Purpose of processing personal data
Secured electronic data-sharing via the "InstAMetal" web platform. Personal data is exclusively used to carry out and process your orders and for the use of the "InstAMetal" web platform. In addition, data is transmitted to Google Analytics in order to improve understanding of user behaviour. Anonymised data is processed in order to make further improvements to the InstAMetal product.

Legal substantiation for processing your data from 25 May 2018
We process your data for the purposes of contract fulfillment pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b EU -GDPR. Processing of your pseudonymised and anonymised data is carried out pursuant to Art. 6 para 1 lit. f for the purposes of need-based design and optimisation of the platform.

Recipients or categories of recipients of your data
We employ contractors for processing your personal data with whom we have concluded agreements concerning data processing within the scope of the contract which complies with the requirements of German and EU data privacy law. The other recipients to whom your data is sent are affiliated companies of GKN Sinter Metals Engineering GmbH within the meaning of § 15 AktG (German Stock Corporation Act), provided your data is required to fulfil your orders.

The servers on which the data in the platform are hosted are located in Germany. Measurement and evaluation of your user behaviour also takes place via Google Analytics. This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses what is referred to as "cookies", which are text files which are stored on your computer and which permit your usage of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie concerning your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server located in the USA and saved there. If IP-anonymisation has been activated on this website, your Google IP address will be shortened by Google within EU member states or in other countries which are party to agreements governing the European Economic Area prior to the data being transmitted to the US. There is no European Commission adequacy resolution governing the transmission of personal data to recipients which are headquartered in the USA. Your data will be stored for the duration of the business relationship and beyond, pursuant to the applicable legal retention periods.

Exercising your rights as an affected party
At all times, you are able to request information in writing by addressing a request to GKN Sinter Metals Engineering GmbH (Dr. Meinhard Ploner, meinhard.ploner@gkn.com) concerning the personal data stored by us about you. Possible consequences of not providing your data
If you intend to use the "InstAMetal" web platform, you are required to enter your access data. If your data is required to carry out and process your tasks and to use your web platform, not providing your data means that the "InstAMetal" website may not be accessible to you and tasks cannot be completed or cannot be fully completed.
While you are using the "InstAMetal" web platform, data is transferred via your internet browser to the web servers of the "InstAMetal" web platforms for technical reasons. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about you based on this data. If you contact us by email, we will only use this data to respond to your request.

Cookies and additional use of your data
The "InstAMetal" web platform uses cookies in order to make its services more effective and user-friendly. Cookies are invalidated on the server after one session.
